We've eaten at Posticino before... probably about two months ago. And unsurprisingly it was a really pleasant meal, especially considering we managed to sit outside in the sun in winter. Even better we managed to have drinks, share a starter and have a main all for under R200.

Now the thing about Posticino is it doesn't really feel like a restaurant, it feels more like you're popping over to a friends house for a meal. I remember the first time that we were there, half the tables in the restaurant all having a discussion about boxers (pugilists, not underpants). The decor inside is really good, simplistic and clever. My one slight criticism might be the chairs... but then again I expect all restaurants to give me a lounger. Value for money can't be beaten... this is certainly a place for some food home with you, rather than a quick burger somewhere. The service was good and friendly, and we got the food really quickly.

I know that Posticino doesn't have any Michelin stars, mostly because they only use cooks operating under the owners watchful eye, however they've done quite well here, because they are in the Dine (one of the countries top print restaurant magazines) Magazine's top 100 for the whole country.

When you eat in Posticino, and I say when because you'd be doing yourself an injustice by missing out, I would suggest having a very quick look down the menu. Then, chat to your waiter. There are always specials on, and you can make pizza toppings into pasta sauce and vica versa, so you always end up with something you really enjoy. The Wine list is only one page, but has all the wines you would expect without being pretentious. The music inside was pleasant, and fitting with the restaurant. Unfortunately the music outside was non existent, well not that I noticed any, and there was the hum of traffic from the main road, which brings me neatly onto my next point about the transport and location... you may struggle a bit with finding parking, however if you're using public transport it is very easy to get to. There is the one slight drawback of looking onto the road.

I must say that the only thing that really disappointed me was the fact that we had to go to a club opening and didn't get to spend more time at this friendly place, with good food at good prices.
