Guitar mastery took center stage in 1967 when Jeff Beck, ex-Yardbirds, teamed with Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and a rotating cast in London. Beck’s site calls them 'blues-rock trailblazers,' a tag earned with 'Truth' (1968), outselling peers and hitting UK top 15. Stewart’s gritty vocals and Beck’s fretwork birthed classics like 'I Ain’t Superstitious.' After 'Beck-Ola' (1969), internal strife—Stewart and Wood’s Faces move—split them by late 1969. Reformed in 1970 with Bobby Tench, their 1972 albums flopped, ending by 1972. Selling over 5 million records, their influence outlasted their run. Beck’s later solo triumphs, including eight Grammys, owe a nod to this chaotic crucible.
