Sarabeth's at 945 Madison Ave is part of the restaurant group founded by Sarabeth and Bill Levine, who opened a tiny bakery-kitchen in 1981. The brand quickly became a favourite among New Yorkers for its preserves, baked goods, breakfast and brunch. The group expanded through the 1980s and 1990s, and in 1991 became the first private restaurant for the Whitney Museum of American Art. Sarabeth's award-winning fruit preserves are now sold in department stores and gourmet shops across the US, Canada, Japan and South Korea.
